Marathon!

Eric ran his first marathon this past weekend at our old stomping ground at U of I. It was so much fun seeing Eric achieve this huge accomplishment as well as see the kids on the quad, and of course, getting to see Diane, Jim, Jack, and Emma. It was not the nicest of days, but who cares what the weather is like when you have so many good distractions! I must say, when two college girls agreed to take our group picture, and Eric shouted out, "Class of 1998" the look on their faces was that of shock! I don't feel a day over 21!

Disney World Training

We had a beautiful day for a walk on the Monon. Eric said we had to toughen the kids' legs up before heading to the happiest place on earth. They still have no clue...

Dear Ian,

Why must you grow? Why must you now lay on your back as I cover you for the night? You lift your arms as we count the blankets just the same, but why not sleep on your belly as you have for the past 2 1/2 years? I take comfort that you still tuck Lion under your arm. And you love to snuggle to read at night. And talk about your day. But you now also provide a full menu of your breakfast order. I watch videos of you from a year ago and you spoke in single words. Now? It's, "We'll, here are our options..." Or "Well, I was thinking..." I know that we need to transition you to a big boy bed, but then what part of baby is left? I will have to think hard about that one.

Love,
Mommy

Easter

Ian enjoyed Easter, and he really got into the egg hunt this year. Of course his late night from Easter Vigil mass resulted in him sleeping in until Audrey convinced us at 8 AM that it was enough already! He loved his new construction addition to his GeoTrax set.
